*Early on tonight we'll play a song from 1981...a song that actually went through a title change just prior to its release. It was taken from an actual 'stroll' of life by one of the co-writers. It would get crowded a few days later. Name the band and extra credit for the title of the track...
*We'll play a song from 1968 that deals with civil unrest in Europe and America. There were student riots in London and Paris and protests in America over the Vietnam War. The frontman of the band joined the roughly 25,000 who protested in London as they marched on the American Embassy. Fortunately, he bailed out before the demonstration turned violent. Name the band, the frontman and extra credit for the name of the track... *This amazing American artist was also known for writing incredible songs for other great artists to record...something that perhaps subjected his solo work to being overlooked. One such significant artist not only recorded a number of those tracks, but also then collaborated with him on an entire album. Name the significant songwriting artist and then the one who would go on to collaborate with him... *2021 yielded this band's first album in four years. It represented a follow-up to that album, 14 years after the album prior to that one. The lyrics were written prior to the onset of the Covid pandemic, but certainly have compelling relevance to some of the chaos currently in the world. Hearing this track along with many of the band's additional hits recently on this station kind of makes me think that all the albums they've released since the early 70's are worthy of 5th segment inclusion.
