*This 1971 song came from an album when this duo left California in 1969, returning to the Midwest, this time to Kansas City, Missouri where they played college towns in Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri and Kansas. That album title referred to songs that came to mind when they were driving to and from Kansas City to their gigs on the 2-lane highway Route 59. They would always go through this one specific town in Missouri. The song from that album was by far, their biggest hit. Name the duo, the album and extra credit for the name of the track...
*Pretty much everything about this great artist is tousled...his hair, his shirt, his posture and even his glasses that looked too big. His head also looked too big most likely because of the big brain it contained from all of his fantastic lyrics. He was primarily an L.A. guy, but was exposed to deep south culture by his mama, who was from there. Name the artist... *During a long and winding career that has seen this artist move from bluesman to guitar hero to chart-topping rocker to balladeer and back, he always tried to live up to his early reputation. His eponymous 1970 solo album was recorded using most of the band members from the band he'd just completed touring with. Name the artist.... *Supergroups don't come much more super than this mostly 4-member band. There were all kinds of reasons why they just couldn't stay together, but some reunions were glorious. Each of them also had exceptional solo careers. This is almost too easy...but name the band and then...take a guess which member we'll play in this evening's 5th segment. Now that's a challenge!
