*We'll play a track from what some have called one of the great singers in Rock and Roll history and an artist with a compelling story. He rocketed to fame with his group in the late 50's before going solo and recording some great songs of his own. Most stars like him were destined for the 'supper club' circuit and oldies concerts...but he went on another musical journey of folk, blues and gospel...that continues to this day. He is generally know by his 1st name. Name the artist.
*A track by George Harrison from his 'All Things Must Pass' album was initially written by Harrison in 1968 and offered to The Beatles in 1969 for inclusion on the 'Let It Be' album. The rest of the band were not convinced and it got left off, a continuing source of conflict that ultimately lead to their breakup. Name the tune. *James Honeyman-Scott was a guitarist for The Pretenders who eventually passed due to a drug overdose in 1982 at the age of 26. This track was a tribute to Honeyman-Scott and one that is very difficult for Chrissie Hynde to perform as a result. Any guesses on the song? *Pete Brown was a friend of Jack Bruce of Cream fame. He was also a poet who wrote the lyrics for a number of Cream songs including Sunshine Of Your Love and I Feel Free. He also wrote the track we'll play that is a song about depression and hopelessness with the setting being an empty apartment. Name the popular tune. Battle Of The Bands!
